Congratulations to the players and management of the 14 Premier team, who captured the league title with three games to spare when they beat Home Farm 4-1 at a sunny Mobhi Road yesterday morning. This is a fine achievement for the under 14s, who are unbeaten in the league and had only one draw.
Yesterday's success will bring back happy memories for team manager Dave Collins, who enjoyed a league win in this age group as a player with the club in the 1985-86 season, when, by a coincidence, the Orchard clinched the title with a 2-1 win over Home Farm in Albert College, in the last game of the season. And 29 years on, Dave yesterday saw his son Nathan captain the team in the club's latest success in this age group.
Well done to all who were involved in an outstanding season for the 14 Premier team.
